Brazil watermarble

Hey all

I started this manicure with the best intentions but it just didn't want to work with me. As part of the Weekly Dose of Rainbows group on instagram we were told to do a watermarble for this weeks post. I hate marbling but I gave it a go.

I used OPI Kiss me I'm Brazillian and I just can't cope-acabana for this. I didn't bother with a basecoat. It bubbled on pretty much every nail annoyingly. I topped it with Sally Hansen 3D gel shine topcoat to try and cover the bubbles (it didn't work). I love the colours together, they are so bright and fun and they mix really well.

Twinsie Tuesday- Romantic

Hey all

Fail! I tried to do some hearts using my dotting tools but I just cannot get the hang of it. I do like the bigger individual ones on my middle and pinky finger but the group of hearts on the other nails look messy :(

I used the new Essence Valentine Who cares? polish in  02 Talk to the hand for my base. On for the hearts I used OPI Kiss me I'm Brazillian which is a lovely bubblegum pink. Nice and bright but not too garish.

I topped it off with Sally Hansen 3d Gel shine topcoat and that's all there is to it!

Twinsie Tuesday- Endometriosis awareness

Hey all,

This week we have to do a mani for Endometriosis awareness. For anyone not familiar with this, yellow is the main colour associated with it. I went with a basic swatch initially but added on a glitter topper to help smooth out the streaks.

Here I have 3 coats of OPI I just can't cope-acabana. I've mentioned this polish a few times and how awful the formula is. Instead of adding on a forth coat I layered Smitten Polish Pink Lemonade on top. This is a sheer yellow polish with pink hex glitters of different sizes. The yellow base helps to cover any streaks in I just Can't cope-acabana but it doesn't change the colour too much which is nice. I topped it off with a coat of Sally Hansen Miracle Gel topcoat to get rid of any bumps.

A kind of colourful colour-block

Hey all,

Although I am pretty sick of bright nail polish at the moment, I was playing around with the 2 OPI polishes I have from the Brazil Collection and I really liked the result so I thought I'd show it here. I am pretty unimpressed with OPI polishes on the whole but they make some really pretty polishes. I just with the formula was better to justify the extra cost.  I

A polish I don't use as often as I thought I would is A-England Tristam. I love holographic polishes, both scattered and linear, but this one just fell a bit flat for me. I'm not sure why because the swatches were beautiful and I wanted it for so long before I finally bought it.  Anyway I have on 2 coats of Tristam. I marked off the nails using striping tape and added OPI Kiss me I'm Brazilian to the lower half and OPI I just can't cope-acabana to the upper half.

Summer flowers

Hey all,

This is probably the happiest manicure I have done for a fair while! It's definitely not me but I loved the way it turned out. I love floral manicures but they rarely come out right when I try them. This is probably the easiest way to do a floral manicure. All you need are some dotting tools, any size will do! I went for the biggest option, it makes the best flowers in my opinion.

I started off with 3 coats of Essence Iced Latte. After giving that enough time to dry I dotted on Catrice Pimp my Shrimp, Barry m Dragon Fruit and OPI Kiss me I'm Brazilian. The Yellow is OPI I just can't cope-acabana. I went for a half-moon design and I think it worked fairly well. The only problem I had (and this happens with most manicures) is my pinky finger. It is so hard to do nail art on it now that it is super short and it looks weird if I use a smaller dotting tool. Very annoying.

OPI I just can't cope-acabana

Hey all,

Today I have a bit of a disappointing  hugely disappointing polish to show ye. This is OPI I just can't cope-acabana from the recent OPI Brazil Collection. I wasn't really in to this collection but I heard such amazing reviews on I just can't cope-acabana that I had to get it. I love yellow polish  but we all know it has the worst formula in the world. It seems like every brand fails when it comes to yellow polish and do you know what? OPI is no exeption to this despite all the positive reviews for this polish.

Here I have on 4 coats of I just can't cope-acabana with an accent nail of Kiss me I'm Brazillian, 3 coats, also from the brazil collection. The formula on this is just like every other yellow polish I have tried- thin, watery, sheer and difficult to work with. It dragged a lot and it had bald spots even at 3 coats. I really don't know how people are getting this opaque in 2 coats, especially on longer nails. I had to cut my nails to the absolute shortest I could get them in order to get this polish to look ok at 4 coats. That's ridiculous! I am so let down by this polish. It's a nice yellow, it's not overly bright and it has a hint of pastel to it, but it's not anything spectacular that I would regular reach for and go through the pain of applying 4 coats for. I'm rarely so disappointed by a polish because I always check reviews before buying one. Sometimes you get caught no matter what you do. It really puts a damper on the excitement of getting a new polish.

Kiss me I'm Irish (not Brazilian)

Hey all,

Today I have one of the new polishes from the OPI Brazil collection to show ye. I'm sure ye guessed from the title that it's Kiss me I'm Brazilian, a pink creme that a few people passed on seeing as it's not all that unique. I don't normally buy pink nail polish but I liked this shade a lot and I don't have a dupe in my stash.

The formula was ok. Pretty standard for an OPI polish. I needed 3 coats for full coverage. The first two were streaky but the third evened it all out nicely. It's a nice bright pink creme. Nothing special but that's what I was looking for. The colour changes a lot in different lighting. The picture above was taking in direct sunlight. It is really bright in person, almost veering onto neon. It doesn't really suit my skintone to be honest but it will look nice as a pedicure so I'm happy out with it. I've had it on for 2 days now and I don't have any chipping or tipwear so far. I did use a coat of Sally Hansen insta-dri on top so that could be helping to keep this polish in tip top condition.

Also the name is awful stupid! Everyone knows it's "Kiss me I'm Irish" so how they got away with throwing this together I'll never know. They must have been struggling!
